Paris Motor Show 2026: Electric Citroën 2CV, 816-hp Peugeot Concept, and China’s European Invasion

The 2026 Paris Motor Show ran from October 12 to 16 with a clear theme: Europe’s EV market is getting crowded from both sides. Stellantis showed an all-electric Citroën 2CV alongside the 816-bhp Peugeot E-T16 concept, Renault previewed its E-Space electric MPV, and BYD revealed the Atto 8 with new design language and an upmarket cabin.
The bigger story was China’s arrival in force. Chinese manufacturers Avatr and Li Auto made their official European debuts at the show. Li Auto brought the 2026 Li i6 — its first all-electric global model, shown in Europe under the Li 6 name — ahead of an October 28 launch event in China with deliveries starting in early November.
For flair, Fiat showed the Multiplay electric concept: a sliding rear section converts it between a six-seat minivan and a four-seat compact pickup. No powertrain details or production plans were disclosed, but the concept shows how far automakers are pushing adaptability as a selling point.
The takeaway for shoppers: European buyers will soon face their widest-ever spread of EV choices, from €25,000 city cars to 816-bhp halo concepts — and the competition is already forcing down prices. US buyers won’t see most of these models, but the pricing pressure is global.
