Stellantis Recalls 48,777 Alfa Romeo Tonale and Dodge Hornet SUVs Over Rear Seat Belts
By CARC Editorial Team · October 19, 2026 · 2 min read
Stellantis announced on September 8, 2026 that it is recalling 48,777 SUVs because their rear seat belts may not work correctly. The defect reduces passenger protection in a crash, raising the risk of injury for rear-seat occupants.
The affected models are the 2023–2026 Alfa Romeo Tonale and the 2023–2025 Dodge Hornet — mechanically related compact crossovers that share platforms and production.
Owners should watch for mailed notification and schedule the free dealer repair. As always, dealers are legally required to fix recalled vehicles at no charge.
