Waymo Launches Robotaxi Pickups and Drop-Offs at Nashville Airport

Waymo launched robotaxi pickups and drop-offs at Nashville International Airport on October 13, 2026, giving select riders an autonomous door-to-door option for air travel. With every new airport and city added, the company says, the service gets closer to a true door-to-door experience for travelers.

The airport launch follows another Nashville milestone from September: Waymo rolled out specialized accounts for teens aged 13 to 17 across its 50-square-mile Nashville service area, the second market for teen accounts after Phoenix. The accounts link to a parent or guardian’s app, trained agents are available to assist teens during rides, and parents can track the car in real time.

Waymo’s steady expansion — airports, teen riders, more cities — stands in contrast to Tesla’s faster-but-under-investigation Cybercab ramp in Austin. The two companies are now the clearest head-to-head contest in American robotaxi service, and airports are the most valuable single pickup locations to win.
