India’s Flying-Taxi Future Takes a Step: ePlane Partners With Noida International Airport

The ePlane Company has signed a memorandum of understanding with Noida International Airport to integrate eVTOL flight with airport operations, the company announced October 21. The partnership will co-develop vertiports, standard operating procedures and the systems needed to deploy the e200X eVTOL air taxi — a deliberately pragmatic, infrastructure-first approach.
The pitch is compressing hours of Delhi-NCR road travel into minutes of zero-emission transit — for passengers and for critical medical care. Noida International Airport chairman Daniel Bircher framed the deal as part of the airport’s long-term vision for “innovative, future-ready infrastructure,” calling advanced air mobility integration “an important part of our commitment to seamless, multi-modal connectivity” and pledging collaboration on the ground infrastructure and operational SOPs required for safe, zero-emission air transit and emergency services.
The step-by-step logic is sound: when the aircraft are certified, the airport ecosystem will be ready rather than playing catch-up. But the honest timeline remains: certification, not infrastructure, is the gating item for eVTOL everywhere in the world, and the e200X’s path through India’s regulators is still ahead of it.
