Ford U.S. Sales Fall 6.6% in Q3 Ahead of October 28 Earnings

Ford sold 509,764 vehicles in the United States in the third quarter of 2026, down 6.6% from a year earlier, the company reported ahead of its Q3 earnings event scheduled for 5 p.m. ET on Wednesday, October 28. Ford said sales volume was essentially unchanged after adjusting for the planned phase-outs of the Escape and Corsair, against an industry decline of about 1% on the same adjusted basis.

The detail that matters for dealers is share, not just volume: Ford estimated its adjusted retail share at 12.1%, up about 0.4 percentage points from a year earlier. “We delivered a solid quarter and continued to gain retail share adjusted for the planned sunset of Escape and Corsair,” said Andrew Frick, president of Ford Blue and Model e. A short-term supplier issue affected F-150 production at the end of September, but Ford said the expected financial impact sits within its 2026 adjusted EBIT outlook of $10 billion to $11 billion, raised on July 28.

Wall Street expectations going into the call cluster around $0.39 to $0.41 in earnings per share on revenue near $49.08 billion, against $0.45 and $50.53 billion a year earlier — forecasts, not Ford guidance. The company’s full-year adjusted free cash flow outlook remains $6 billion to $7 billion. Tonight’s call will show whether the retail-share gain and the cost story outweigh the headline sales decline.
