Hyundai Bayon Interior Revealed Ahead of India Launch: NVIDIA-Powered Cockpit, 115 hp Petrol

New interior photos of the Hyundai Bayon, revealed October 21 ahead of its India launch, show a cockpit punching above the car’s segment. Marketed as an “Intelligent Utility Vehicle,” the Bayon will slot between the sub-4-metre Venue and the 4.33-metre Creta in one of India’s most crowded and fastest-growing segments. It carries Hyundai’s Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) with NVIDIA-accelerated infotainment — split-screen operation, online navigation, quick-access controls and personalized profiles — plus the Bluelink suite with more than 70 connected features, from remote start/stop to smartwatch connectivity.

The tech extends under the skin: over-the-air updates are supported for up to 19 vehicle controllers, so software upgrades arrive without a dealer visit. Under the hood it’s straightforward: a 1.5-litre MPi petrol four-cylinder with 115 PS and 144 Nm, paired with a 6-speed manual or an IVT automatic — the same engine as the Creta. Estimated pricing of around Rs 9.5 lakh to Rs 14 lakh puts it squarely in the heart of the segment.

The Bayon’s pitch is clear: flagship infotainment tech in a mainstream package, in a market where connected features increasingly decide purchases. The segment’s incumbents — including the Creta it shares its engine with — will need to answer the cockpit-first approach.
