Jaguar, owned by Tata Motors, unveiled its all-electric Type 01 at an event in New York City on October 6, 2026, priced at approximately $130,500 in the US and £130,000 in the UK. The flagship offers up to 450 miles of range and accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds.
The launch is the centerpiece of Jaguar’s all-electric brand reboot, two years after a rebrand whose car-free marketing drew widespread backlash. The company is rebuilding at the same time: it is still recovering from a cyberattack that halted production and has announced plans to cut 4,000 jobs to reduce costs.
The Type 01 arrives into a luxury EV market that got crowded fast — Ferrari and Bentley both launched their first EVs this year — while lower-cost Chinese brands pressure the segment from below. Orders open in early 2027; reception of this car will signal whether Jaguar’s electric reinvention has real buyers behind it.
