OMODA X Teased: Sharp Geometric SUV Merges Sports-Car Stance With Off-Road Muscle

By CARC Editorial Team · October 23, 2026 · 3 min read

Chery Group’s Omoda Jaecoo division teased the all-new OMODA X during the 2026 International User Summit, running October 18–24 in Wuhu, China, auto.rockstarmedia.com.my reported. The model’s design language fuses sharp geometric lines with a sports-car silhouette and the elevated, robust structure of an off-road utility vehicle — what the brand describes as a more decisive, muscular visual identity for Omoda Jaecoo.

The X shares its debut platform with Omoda Jaecoo’s latest Super Hybrid (SHS-H) vehicles, including the Omoda 4 SHS-H and Omoda 7 SHS-H. The Omoda 7 introduces a dedicated 5kWh-battery hybrid architecture that media testers are putting through long-distance endurance runs across the multi-day summit — a live stress test of fuel efficiency and long-range operating parameters in front of international evaluators.

The tease is strategic. The Omoda 4 and Omoda 7 have already locked in Australian market releases for the first half of 2027 after debuting at the Everything Electric exhibition in Sydney. The OMODA X signals where the design goes next — and confirms that Super Hybrid, not pure electric, is the powertrain story Chery wants the world to associate with the brand.
