Renault Q3 Revenue Rises 1.4% to €11.6 Billion Despite a 6% Volume Drop

Renault Group reported a better-than-expected 1.4% rise in third-quarter revenue at constant exchange rates on October 29, to €11.6 billion, against a company-compiled consensus that had expected a 0.3% decline. Group volumes fell 6% to 497,799 vehicles, largely because of heightened competition in Europe and Latin America from Chinese manufacturers, Reuters reported.
The mix did the work. Electric vehicle sales rose 84.7% in the quarter to 25.8% of passenger-car sales, and including hybrids, electrified vehicles made up 54.9%. European retail sales rose 5%, with retail reaching 64.8% of the mix. Automotive revenue was broadly stable at €9.8 billion, while Mobilize Financial Services revenue rose 11.0% to €1.8 billion. For the first nine months of 2026, total revenue reached €41.8 billion, up 7.1%.
Renault confirmed its 2026 guidance: a group operating margin of around 5.5% of revenue, with a slight second-half improvement tempered by higher raw material costs and inflation, plus automotive free cash flow of €1.0 billion. The caution is visible in the share price, down 26% so far this year to its lowest in more than four years, piling pressure on CEO Francois Provost to show that the smallest of Europe’s legacy automakers can survive the Chinese wave — including pressure on its low-cost Dacia brand as it moves into the mid-sized C-segment.
