Stellantis Posts $503 Million Q3 Loss, Expects $1.1 Billion in Tariff Costs

Stellantis reported a net loss of $503 million (€0.5 billion) for the third quarter of 2026, alongside net revenues of €37.6 billion, up 1% year over year, the company announced October 28. Adjusted operating income improved to €0.3 billion, a 0.7% margin, and the loss was a 90% improvement on the prior-year quarter, which had been hit by significant items. The company reaffirmed its full-year 2026 guidance, including positive industrial free cash flow in 2027.
The regional picture was mixed. Net revenues rose 3% in both Enlarged Europe and South America, but fell 3% in North America on lower volumes from planned production downtime, 19% in the Middle East and Africa, and 7% in Asia Pacific. Consolidated shipments slipped 1% to 1,286,000 vehicles. Chief executive Antonio Filosa said the FaSTLAne 2030 plan is gaining traction, with at least 40% of its $6.7 billion annual cost-savings target — about $2.6 billion — on track by year-end.
The warning for the rest of the year is cost, not demand: Stellantis expects to spend $1.1 billion on tariffs, and flagged additional fourth-quarter costs from pricey computer chips and rising recall expenses. The stock had fallen below $4 a share earlier in October, an all-time low since the merger, so the Q3 print matters less as a single quarter than as a test of whether Filosa’s turnaround plan can convert a narrowing loss into an actual profit.
