Dodge Recalls 13,330 Durango SUVs Over Failing Tail Lights

By CARC Editorial Team · October 29, 2026 · 3 min read

FCA US LLC is recalling more than 13,000 vehicles because the tail lights are not illuminating properly, according to a notice posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The recall covers 13,330 vehicles, all of them the 2026 Dodge Durango, and carries the FCA recall number A2D.

The defect is in the wiring, not the bulb. “The terminals in the tail light wiring harness may be damaged and cause the tail lights to fail,” the notice says. A tail light that fails reduces visibility for the motorist and for drivers behind, increasing the risk of a crash — particularly at night, in rain, or in stop-and-go traffic where brake and tail lights are the main warning other drivers get.

Car owners should take their vehicle to a dealership to have the tail light assemblies replaced at no cost. Notification letters will be sent out on December 4, and Chrysler can be reached at 800-853-1403. Do not wait for the letter if your Durango’s tail lights look dim, flicker, or fail: check the VIN in NHTSA’s recall database now and book the replacement, because a lighting failure is one of the cheapest recalls to fix and one of the most dangerous to ignore.
