Toyota Recalls 105,794 Land Cruiser Hybrids Over Fuel-Tube Fire Risk

Toyota is recalling 105,794 vehicles in the United States over a potential fuel leak that could raise the risk of a fire if the leaking fuel reaches an ignition source, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on October 21. The recall covers certain 2024–2027 Toyota Land Cruiser Hybrid vehicles, according to Reuters’ reporting of the federal announcement.

The defect is in the fuel tube connection near the fuel tank, which could disconnect and leak fuel. As part of the remedy, dealers will install a supplemental clamp or replace the resin fuel tube entirely, free of charge to owners. Fire-risk recalls are the category where speed matters most: a leaking fuel tube near hot exhaust components is a hazard that grows worse with age and vibration, not better.

Owners of affected Land Cruisers should not wait for a letter to take this seriously. Check the vehicle’s VIN in NHTSA’s recall database now, and if it’s included, schedule the clamp or tube replacement promptly. If you smell fuel or see wetness near the rear of the vehicle, do not drive it — call the dealer for a tow.
