Geely unveiled the Monjaro EM-i, a new flagship plug-in hybrid SUV, at the 2026 Paris Motor Show on October 12, FleetNews reported. The large SUV — a rival for the Kia Sorento and Skoda Kodiaq — is a key model for Geely Auto’s UK ambitions, and managing director Michael Yang said the company had high expectations, highlighting handling, safety technology and passenger comfort.
The Monjaro EM-i uses Geely’s EM-i Super Hybrid system, pairing a dedicated plug-in hybrid engine with intelligent energy management. An all-wheel-drive version uses an Intelligent Electric AWD system that distributes power in milliseconds, built on the GEA Evo architecture with front- and rear-axle decoupling, torque vectoring and Continuous Damping Control suspension adjustable in as little as 20 milliseconds. Drive modes run Comfort, Standard, Sport, Pure, Hybrid, Power and Snow, with Sand and Off-road added on AWD.
Safety is pitched as a headline: a high-strength body, seven airbags, Geely’s Battery Safety System, a 360-degree camera with transparent-chassis view — and 21 extreme-condition safety tests, engineered toward a five-star Euro NCAP rating. Geely has not yet confirmed UK pricing, electric-only range, fuel economy or power outputs; with Chinese PHEVs now the fastest-growing powertrain segment in Europe, the numbers will matter.
