Hyundai’s Two Smallest October Recalls: 17 Elantras, 24 Elantras and Tucsons

Hyundai reported two of the smallest recalls of the week of October 19–25, 2026: 17 Elantra, Elantra Hybrid and Elantra N vehicles over a wheels issue, and 24 Elantra and Tucson Hybrid vehicles over a suspension issue, according to the NHTSA weekly recall summary. Together, the two campaigns cover just 41 vehicles — a rounding error next to the 228,367-vehicle Toyota Sienna recall reported the same week, but no less real for the owners involved.
Small recalls like these are usually the most precise kind: they trace to a specific supplier batch, a specific production window, or a specific assembly-line event, rather than a design flaw affecting every car with the badge. That is why the model-year and component listings matter more than the headline count — an Elantra owner whose car was built outside the affected batch is not affected, and an owner inside it needs the free dealer repair even though only a handful of cars share the defect.
The weekly summary does not publish the full defect descriptions for these two campaigns, so owners should check their VIN on NHTSA.gov rather than guessing from the model name. The broader lesson for buyers is reassuring in an odd way: when a manufacturer can narrow a recall to 17 cars, its traceability is working. The recalls to worry about are the ones that start small and grow — and the only way to know which kind yours is, is to check.
