Hyundai Recalls a Handful of 2026 Venue and Elantra Cars for Loose Lug Nuts
By CARC Editorial Team · October 28, 2026 · 3 min read
Hyundai is recalling certain 2026 Venue and Elantra models, including the Elantra N and Elantra Hybrid, because wheel lug nuts may loosen, according to a new NHTSA listing dated October 28. NHTSA lists up to 17 vehicles in the campaign, and dealers will inspect and tighten the lug nuts free of charge.
The small number is the story here in one sense — this is a tightly scoped production issue, not a design flaw across a model line — but the failure mode deserves respect. A loosening wheel typically announces itself with vibration, noise or a wobble long before it separates, and any of those symptoms should send a driver straight to a dealer, not on to the next errand.
If you are buying a used 2026 Venue, Elantra N, Elantra Hybrid or Elantra, check its VIN for this recall before you buy, as the listing itself advises. The remedy is a simple inspection and tightening, which is exactly the kind of recall that should never be left undone because it looks too small to matter.
