Stellantis Recalls 328,381 Jeep Grand Cherokees Over Broken Suspension Parts

By CARC Editorial Team · October 24, 2026 · 3 min read

Stellantis announced on October 15 that it is recalling 328,381 SUVs over a loss of stability caused by broken suspension components. The affected models are the 2022-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the 2022-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid, and the 2021-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L three-row SUV. The defect significantly increases the risk of a serious accident if a suspension part fails while driving.

The recall follows an ongoing United States government investigation and two earlier recalls for the same issue that did not fully resolve it. The NHTSA recall number is 26V562000. Repeat recalls for the same defect are a sign that the first repair did not hold, and regulators typically watch the completion rate of the follow-up campaign closely.

Owners of the affected Grand Cherokees should contact a Jeep dealer to arrange the repair and avoid ignoring suspension noises, uneven tire wear or changes in handling, all of which can be early signs of suspension trouble. As with every safety recall, the repair is performed free of charge.
