Leapmotor A10s Launches in China at Just $13,810 — With LiDAR and 505 km Range

Leapmotor has launched the A10s, a sporty variant of its A10 small electric SUV, in China at a list price of 92,800 yuan — about $13,810. The launch on October 18 comes as the company pushes for year-end sales momentum: A10 deliveries fell 24% month-on-month to 24,457 units in September, still nearly a quarter of Leapmotor’s monthly total.

The A10s pairs a single 90 kW (121 hp) front motor with a 53 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery for 505 km of CLTC range. The real story is the hardware at this price: LiDAR, a Qualcomm SA8295 cockpit chip and an SA8650 driver-assistance chip enabling urban navigation on autopilot, automated highway cruising and memory parking — effectively parking-space-to-parking-space assisted driving. An 800-volt platform means 30–80% charging in as little as 16 minutes.

Differentiation from the A10 is mostly styling and comfort: exclusive Mirror Night Black paint, gunmetal-gray emblems, 18-inch black sport wheels, a red S badge, and a Modern Gray cabin with red stitching and ventilated front seats. The A10s is a case study in how China’s price war has moved upmarket — where the battle is now over driver-assistance chips and charge speed, not just sticker price.
