Every 2027 Mustang Mach-E Gets the Big Battery, and Most Versions Get Cheaper

Every 2027 Mustang Mach-E gets the extended-range battery, with 88 kWh usable in the Select and Premium models and 91 kWh in the GT and Rally models, and prices start at $39,995 before destination. Reporting on the announcement says every version except the rear-drive Select costs $2,300 to $3,050 less than before. Orders opened October 22, and EPA range figures had not been announced yet at the time of reporting, so buyers should treat the battery size as the confirmed change and wait for the official range rating before comparing road-trip ability.
The lineup also adds a light off-road option. A new $2,295 Trail package for the all-wheel-drive Select adds a small lift, the Rally 19-inch wheels, and Michelin CrossClimate 2 all-weather tires, from the first quarter of 2027. That package sits in a different place from a dedicated off-road trim: it is a factory option that makes a mainstream electric SUV a little more capable on dirt and snow, rather than a separate model with its own powertrain.
The pricing move is the point. A year after the federal tax credit ended, an electric SUV cannot rely on a tax incentive to close the gap with a gasoline rival, so Ford is closing it with a bigger standard battery and lower prices on most versions. The rear-drive Select is the exception that proves the rule: it keeps the lineup entry price in reach while the rest of the range gets cheaper for more battery.
